Let Me Be

In prayer for my kids yesterday I found myself saying, "Lord show me how I can... show me what I can do, show me, me, me, me, me..." So sweetly the Lord brought this verse to mind:
It is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord.    Lamentations 3:26
"But that's so hard," I whined. "I want to do more."

Then he gave me the following words to write:

I bowed my head and closed my eyes in prayer for you today.
I stumbled over words not sure what I should say.

"Lord help me be your hands and feet, let me be your light.
To speak of your amazing grace and fighting the good fight.
I want them to be stronger, for them to know your truth.
I want my life to guide the way - to be your living proof.
If I could only show them a life so full and free..."
And then He gently whispered, "My child, what about Me?"

"I am the light, amazing grace, the God who won the war.
I give strength, I speak the truth, I open every door.
I am life, I make it full, I'm the one who set you free
If you want to see my life in them, then child let me be,"

"Just be my hands and feet to someone who's in need,
Giving glory to my name with every single deed.
Continue walking in my light, talk about my grace,
Do all you can to fight the fight and continue in this race.
Rely upon my strength, let my truth be all you seek
Then step aside and let me lead, for my child I'm not weak.
Enjoy what only I can give - life so full and free,
Wait quietly for my salvation, leave the rest to me."

P.S. I LOVE comments! I'd love to hear from you!
